Das Musikzimmer is a chamber music concert series in Basel, created by El Gabinete de Música in 2025. Its name reflects our aim to recreate the intimate atmosphere of historical private concerts while bringing forgotten repertoire back to life.

In 2026 - under the title Umbesetzt - we will explore four different cases of instrumental music re-adapted for other forces, a relatively new phenomenon that rapidly gained importance around 1700.
