Dedicated to the performance of 18th-Century chamber music, El Gabinete de Música takes its name from the "room or chamber in palaces or houses" - according to the first Spanish dictionaries - where musical evenings or academias took place.
Composed of former classmates from the Schola Cantorum in Basel, El Gabinete de Música has performed in Germany, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands.

PROJECTS
In March 2024, we founded an association in the city of Basel to develop our own artistic vision. Our projects are based on three core principles:
reviving the musical practices of the 18th century, both in performance and in their original social context
rediscovering and bringing back to life forgotten repertoire that has fallen outside the mainstream classical canon
making high-quality musical performances accessible to a broad audience while connecting the music of the past with contemporary society
